Frequently asked questions - minimum hours settings

From 1 July 2024, employers of short-term workers have been required to offer 120 hours of work over 4 weeks, for all existing and new short-term recruitments. If employers cannot do this, they must pay workers’ wages equivalent to 120 hours over 4 weeks. The government has extended the current minimum hours obligation to offer short-term workers 120 hours over 4 weeks until 31 March 2026.
